CHRIS KOCUREK - lead vocals, rhythm guitar
Chris is no stranger to classic rock music. He has an innate passion for hard-driving power chords and melodic lead vocals. Originally influenced by artists like Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, and Rush, he has also, used his musical talents in the genres of country, folk, and music theatre. Chris is a multi-instrumentalist and contributes a variety of ambient sounds to the stage. A native of Texas, you can find Chris just as comfortable performing on a classic rock stage as two-stepping in a Texas honky tonk.
BEN HUNTER - lead/rhythm guitar
Ben originally hails from Nashville but you won’t hear any Country emanating from his guitar (he’ll always listen to some Johnny Cash, though). His early guitar influences range from Southern rock to Led Zeppelin with a dose of Neil Young thrown in. He has a soft spot for 70’s music but you’ll also find him at a Govt Mule or White Denim show. When he’s not playing music he may be found chasing a bunch of rescue animals around the house.
TOM WIGGINS aka "Big Wig" - bass guitar, vocals
Tom holds down the bottom end for the band with his impeccable tone and solid groove. He is our “Ace in Hole for Soul” and is always channeling that “Gospel of Groove”.
Some of Big Wig’s bass influences include, Rocco Prestia, John Taylor, Verdine White, and James Jameson and so many more. Before finding his home in Vinyl Flashback, Big Wig was an integral member of a variety of cover bands playing in and around Austin. He has performed in both corporate and club settings. He loves his Fender basses and plays Mesa Boogie amps to get that awesome low end sound. Big Wig is a Libra and is always up for talking sports.
RICK GLASCOCK - drums, vocals
'It don't mean a thing if it ain't got that swing'. As a percussionist, Rick is equally comfortable providing the heart beat to tunes by Steely Dan, Stravinsky, and Strayhorn. Originally from north of San Francisco, Rick has been involved in musical ensembles from an early age. Coming to classic rock later in his career, he gained an appreciation for the contributions of the great drummers of rock - John Bonham, Chad Smith, Stewart Copeland - to name a few. Not content with just playing good time, Rick strives to understand and recreate the style and intensity of the original drummers in his performances, while allowing space for spontaneous moments that make live performances so exciting.
